Life Insurance Settlement Association, 10 May 2012

Don’t miss the Life Association Settlement Association’s (LISA) 18th Annual Spring Life Settlement Conference and Pre-Conference Workshop, taking place at the Westin Philadelphia, on May 21 to 23.

The conference includes an outstanding lineup of speakers, with the conference program structured around four distinct themes: consumer outreach for eligible policies, life expectancies and mortality issues, ongoing legislative and regulatory issues, and attracting new investment capital. We believe that participants will come away inspired and better informed on the current state of the industry and the bright future ahead.

LISA conferences consistently attract a great audience of attendees and speakers, and this year’s spring event is no exception. “Among the distinguished speakers, LISA is particularly pleased to welcome Michael Barone,” said Darwin Bayston, LISA’s Executive Director. Michael Barone is at the forefront of American political coverage and analyzes political issues with an unmatched passion and clarity.

The conference begins on Monday, May 21, with a complimentary workshop exploring the risks within portfolios for investors, along with the implications of the Employment Retirement Income Security Act (ERISA) for fund managers. General sessions will begin at 12:30 pm on Monday, May 21 and a members’ meeting will be held from 5:00 to 6:00 pm.

Some sessions highlights include:

-  A dialogue with Robert Damron, from the Kentucky House of Representatives.
- Life Expectancies – The Environment Since 2008, featuring a panel of major life expectancy providers.
- The Longevity Project – Are Psychosocial Factors Relevant? A presentation by Dr. Howard Friedman, Scientific Consultant at Longevity Insight Services and distinguished Professor of Psychology at the University of California at Riverside.
